After careful consideration, the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC) has made the tough decision to postpone our Patient Engagement Forum in Washington, DC, that was scheduled to take place on March 26, 2020. Our decision to postpone this inaugural event was not taken lightly. In the last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) has released a heightened number of travel advisories and restrictions, especially for older adults and travelers with underlying health issues. The health, safety and well-being of our attendees and the patients we serve are of utmost importance to us.
With an increasing number of MDIC members and partners actively managing the response to COVID-19 in their communities, we believe it is best to cancel the meeting and ensure our members and those in the healthcare field are able to respond effectively to patient and community concerns. MDIC will continue to closely monitor updates and recommendations from the CDC and WHO, as well as state and local governments. We will notify all registered attendees of our new date once it has been confirmed.
