MDIC is developing an updated COVID-19 Patient Discussion Tool to help patients better understand the implications of delaying or forgoing medical treatment during the ongoing pandemic. The aim of the tool is not to guide the patient towards a specific conclusion, but to assist them in gathering information potentially important to making a final decision. In support of the development of this tool, MDIC is seeking patient advocates who are willing to participate in a brief interview session to provide feedback on the tool.

Time Commitment and Format: Interviews will be held February 1-12, 2021 via Zoom. Each candidate will be asked to spend approximately 15 minutes reviewing the COVID-19 Patient Discussion Tool on their own time, followed by a 15- to 30-minute discussion with interviewers.

Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:

  • Current medical device patient or have an upcoming medical device procedure
  • Have a need for fairly regular interactions with the healthcare system
  • Have an elevated risk if they forego receiving patient care

Participation in the interview process is entirely voluntary and MDIC will not provide interviewees with any form of compensation. Your feedback will help create a valuable tool that can be used by other patients to navigate the care process during the pandemic.
