Accelerate Early Feasibility Studies with EFS Explorer
EFS Explorer connects sponsors, sites, and stakeholders through centralized EFS data and MDIC-curated tools.
Welcome to EFS Explorer
Developed by MDIC in collaboration with Veranex and leading clinical sites, EFS Explorer gives sponsors, sites, and stakeholders a smarter way to navigate the U.S. early feasibility ecosystem. By centralizing key EFS trial data and combining it with MDIC’s proven tools and best practices, the platform makes it easier to identify experienced sites, reduce fragmented outreach, and accelerate first-in-human device studies.

Centralizes Key EFS Data
Built on information from ClinicalTrials.gov, EFS Explorer consolidates publicly available Early Feasibility Study data into one platform, reducing fragmented outreach and redundant data collection.
Connects Sponsors and Experienced Sites
The tool helps EFS sponsors, sites, and stakeholders identify and engage with qualified clinical sites that have prior EFS experience.
Integrates MDIC’s Curated EFS Resources
EFS Explorer combines trial information with MDIC’s EFS tools, including best-practice templates (such as EFS playbook contracting), and will expand to include site self-reporting, CTA confirmation, and additional EFS resources.
Developed by MDIC in collaboration with Veranex
MDIC’s Early Feasibility Studies project team collaborated to develop this resource with input from regulators, medical device manufacturers, and clinicians.
In 2025, MDIC partnered with Veranex Inc. to implement the development of the EFS Explorer, alongside leading clinical sites, as part of MDIC’s mission to accelerate early feasibility studies and strengthen U.S. innovation infrastructure.
MDIC and Veranex recognize the Heart Valve Collaboratory (HVC) for early engagement and contributions that helped inform the EFS Explorer program.
