How Advanced Data Analysis Supports Rapid Point-of-Care Testing

Advanced Manufacturing in Action: A Case Study Series

Advanced manufacturing technologies can improve quality, accelerate development timelines, and strengthen the data foundations needed to support medical device innovation. This Use Case highlights Nanopath’s implementation of Advanced Data Analysis & Cloud Databases to support the design and development of its molecular diagnostic platform.

Nanopath has begun implementing advanced manufacturing technologies to optimize the design, fabrication, and analysis of its diagnostic platform. With support from MDIC’s Advanced Manufacturing Clearing House, Nanopath deployed three advanced approaches:

  • Simulation-Aided Design via Digital Twin
  • Additive Manufacturing for Nanobiosensor Fabrication
  • Advanced Data Analysis and Cloud Databases

This featured Use Case highlights learnings and impacts from implementing Advanced Data Analysis & Cloud Databases to improve development efficiency and product quality.

Digital Transformation At-a-Glance

Nanopath’s benchtop reader collects and analyzes tens of thousands of spectra during a single assay run. To support platform development, Nanopath developed a strategic data infrastructure that enables team members to:

  • Efficiently analyze dense spectral data
  • Quickly map experimental conditions to results
  • Visualize each transformation from raw spectra to final output
  • Rapidly compare results to standardized validation methods

This infrastructure reduced the time required to analyze and store data from hours to less than 10 minutes per experiment, while increasing controlled data storage to greater than 90%.
