GenomeWeb Article Highlights MDIC's CRISPR Reference Sample Effort with Successful Culture Development

MDIC’s Somatic Reference Samples (SRS) Initiative has achieved a critical milestone by successfully engineering 10 cancer-associated genetic variants using CRISPR. Maryellen de Mars, MDIC’s Program Director of Clinical Diagnostics, shared this progress with GenomeWeb, highlighting its significance for NG test validation and improvements in the regulatory process.

These standardized, well-characterized samples will improve the accuracy of cancer diagnostics, streamline regulatory reviews, and ultimately enhance patient outcomes.
