MDIC’s HEPV RWE Stakeholder Working Meeting
On Monday, November 16th MDIC will be hosting a virtual meeting to discuss the role RWE plays with coverage and related payment decisions for medical devices and diagnostics by public and private payers, including how such decision-making may be informed by health technology assessment (HTA) organizations.
This closed meeting will operate as an extended working group meeting with the HEPV RWE Working Group. Representatives from CMS, major private payers, and HTA organizations are invited to participate in discussions centered around the use of RWE for medical devices and, in particular, the opportunity to address evidence needed for CMS’ recently proposed Medicare Coverage of Innovative Technology (MCIT) pathway for FDA-designated breakthrough devices.
Findings from this meeting will help to inform MDIC’s continued efforts to help advance the field in the use and adoption of RWE by payers and others.
MDIC plans to convene a larger, public meeting in 2021 to present some of the discussion points and to offer an opportunity to convene additional stakeholders.
